How to get there

Malaysia is considered by many Russians to be something very exotic, located far away. It's easy to fly to Kuala Lumpur from Moscow. True, most likely you will have to get there with one transfer - in Bangkok or Istanbul. Alternatively, it may be easier to fly to Singapore and take a bus there to Johor Bahru. From there it is easy to get to any point in mainland Malaysia, and most importantly - cheap. The project originated in the nineties of the twentieth century, when the authorities decided to move the racetrack from the center of Kuala Lumpur, thereby freeing up 40 hectares of land. It was decided to erect something that would reflect the progress of the Malay people.

Cesar Pelli was called to carry out this assignment. He eagerly took on the project, proposing to add two small round extensions to the towers, which increased the reliability of the structure.

Even at the Petronas towers, Pelli began to think about how to establish communication between the buildings. As a result, he came up with a brilliant idea: to build a bridge at an altitude of 170 meters, which connected the “twins”.

Thus, in 1995, the best engineering minds from Samsung Heavy Industries designed and brought a unique bridge to life. It was decided to place it on the 41st and 42nd floors of the buildings.

The length of the engineering miracle was 58 meters, and the total weight was 750 tons. Despite the powerful technical parameters, the bridge was installed within three days, since all the blanks for it were created in advance in South Korea.

This is where we mostly ate, because... going to restaurants brought one disappointment, either too expensive or not particularly tasty. Here you can find everything you want.

The shop inside the towers is a great place for romantic photos

Inside the towers there is a museum of technology and science. It is located on the third floor of the towers, you can buy a ticket immediately at the entrance.

Upon entering, you will be seated in a small capsule and told a short introduction story in English. Then you walk around the museum on your own as much as you want. You will be able to experience an earthquake of destructive force, the high speed of a typhoon, see the history of the creation of various planets, test yourself for throwing speed and gravity.

I recommend visiting this museum with your children. It is they who will be most interested in this museum. There is a huge room with educational games for children. How to get to the observation deck

When visiting the towers, be sure to go up to the observation deck of the towers. It is located in an unusual way, at an altitude of 170 meters above the ground, connecting the towers with each other at the level of the 42nd floor and thereby creating the illusion of an air bridge. This bridge also provides fire safety. The ascent takes place on two different elevators. You will be politely accompanied throughout the journey. After visiting the bridge, you are taken to the historical information room, which also offers stunning views and you can take a photo in front of the second tower.

It is better to buy a ticket to the observation deck in advance, the day before the planned visit, it is better to do this in the morning, so as not to stand in line. The ticket office is located at the entrance to the tower (entrance from the side of the mini fountains) on the left side. You need to go down to the floor below on the escalator. When purchasing, you can choose a convenient time to visit.
